There are some books everyone refuses to read. Here are some of mine.
1. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer – Just nope. Not my thing.
2. The Mortal Instraments/Clockwork whatever/Lady Midnight by Cassandra Claire – The author is a pretty terrible person and her genera is not really my thing either.
3. Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien + The Hobbit – the reasons for these books are complicated and I might one day write about it. (note to self: good future blog post).
4. Anything John Green by John Green – not my type of book, not my type of author.
5. 50 Shades of Grey by someone that couldn’t be bothered to google BDSM – N.O.P.E.
6. Armada by Ernest Cline – Ready Player One was absolute crap so I’m not going to give this guy’s books another chance.
hahaha I should make a similar list. Lord of the Rings,Perhaps Harry Porter(I just don’t read fantasy), Game of Thrones( the whole set) and 50 Shades of Gray would be on my list. I like John Green’s The Fault in our Stars though 🙂

I’m not reading John Green either. Not my thing. I didn’t know about Cassandra Clare until after I already owned and read most of the books out at that point. I’m not planning to continue the Shadowhunter series. I only got the Magisterium book 1 because of Holly Black.
I read Armada in May and if you didn’t enjoy Ready Player One there is no point picking that one up.

I also heard that Armada is not as good as Ready Player One?

Lol! I’d love to read your reasons on not reading LotR. I liked the Hobbit but the Fellowship was boring. Dunno if I’ll continue.
You’re the first I’ve come across who refuse to read Mortal Instruments because Clare isnt a nice person. I often hear bloggers and booktubers refuse to read other authors’ books for similar reasons but continue to read Clare’s.
I read City of Bones but didn’t like it much. And I read Fault in Our Stars and ugh! Didn’t like it.

I think the Claire thing is because I learned about it before I read them (and I didn’t read them because it’s not really my genera). Also I heard the first few were HP rip offs and other plagiarism issues before I even considered reading them, which gives me an edge. Now something like Ender’s Game I read before I heard Card was a crappy person and he’s a crappy person in general, not just to readers of his books (who have supported him with money) unlike Claire.
I do plan to write something about LotR at some point and really should start a draft of the post to remind myself.

Ah! I heard the same about Clare before I read her books and surprisingly, it made me want to read her book to see how closely it matches others. There are a lot of similarities.
