The anatomy of my bookshelf

I have only one bookshelf.  I would love to have a second, but I don’t want to have 2 half empty shelves.  Solution: buy more books.  However, I’m trying to keep my shelves to books I absolutely love and will read again, and not have a bunch of unread books all over (see my TBR reading goal for the year).  Sure, I have a lot of knickknacks that I can display to fill up more space.  But I have one word in response to that: cats.

Anyway, here is the breakdown of they types of books you will find on my shelf:

92 Adult, YA and Middle Grade books

 Rough breakdown:

30 Adult (About half are ‘transitional books’ found in the adult section but are very much YA style.)

     51 YA

11 Middle Grade (my half of the series of Harry Potter books are in here)

12 Children’s books

11 Reference-type books

2 Anthologies (YA)

3 Non-fiction books (2 for school, one bought recently)

7 Textbooks (actually currently holding up my cat tree, not on my shelf)

1 3D image search book (see below for example)
